What This Man Thinks

by | May 11, 2023

I owe you an apology.

Last week provided two exquisite examples to ridicule what Francis Bacon would refer to as Idols of the Theater. Or what I would call dumb stuff Mass Man clings to without proof.

And I let them pass without comment.

Before I fess up, though, I should probably clarify what I mean by Mass Man. It is, after all, a common target of my derision and the cause of abusive government power in the first place.

When I say Mass Man, I mean that individual, whether male, female, flying spaghetti monster, or whatever, that is completely vested in the images cast upon Plato’s cave.

The Mass Man has no clue it has fallen in love with an illusion. It would tear you apart for pointing out the lie. It knows only what it has been taught. It bathes in willful ignorance.

Like Thomas Edison said, “Five percent of the people think; ten percent of the people think they think; and the other eighty-five percent would rather die than think.”

It doesn’t really decide for itself.

That 85% is what I mean when I say “Mass Man.”

And now for the apology…

My First Transgression

May 5th, a.k.a. May Day, or what I call “Global Commie Recognition Day,” was also the birthday of that grandaddy of all dingus dung – Karl Marx.

I just learned that fact.

And I failed you by not sharing that revelation and using it as an opportunity to heap scorn upon the source of today’s woke mind virus pandemic.

Rest assured, there will be plenty of opportunities for that in the future.

For the time being, please content yourself with my first apology.

On to the second.

My Second Transgression

In the year 2023, an entire nation of supposedly free – and modern – individuals genuflected to the crowing of a new king.

Now, I thought John Locke shredded the justification for royalty over 300 years ago in his First Treatise of Government. But that’s more of a 5% thing so I can see how a lot of people didn’t get the memo.

But I don’t care who got it or not. Absurdities like “supporting a royal family” on the backs of taxpayers send me over the edge.

Absurdities like “The Crown” owns all oil and gas rights in the U.K. strikes at the very core of my world view.

And my view as I tumble over the edge is that of a radically self-determined individual.

In any case, I apologize for the missed opportunity to rail against the absurd. And I promise I will correct that mistake in tomorrow’s email by sharing that view.

To ensure I make it up to you, you are free to drop your email here. Or you can check back at my blog tomorrow.

And as a bonus to making things right, I will also tell you what this Norse Man is thinking…

Think Free. Be Free.
