Have you seen these reports about the asteroid that might hit earth in 2032?
They’re giving it a 3.1% chance of happening, which is the highest level (although breathe easy because that also means there’s a 96.9% chance of it not happening).
NASA has also explained that if it does make contact, it would potentially have the destructive force to wipe out a large city — causing more damage than an atomic bomb!
That kind of stuff is scary to think about…
But, on the other hand, threats like this drive innovation. They force us to get creative and try to build, for example, asteroid interception technology (yes, that’s a real thing).
It’s nice to have experts smarter than us monitoring the situation and telling us when we need to really be worried.
Now, it’s not on the scale of an asteroid careening toward Earth, but one threat I’m watching very closely is Nvidia’s (NVDA) earnings report next week on Wednesday.
NVDA has had a rocky few months, with the DeepSeek news briefly shattering perceptions of the company and leading to the single biggest one-day loss in value in stock market history.
Over the last few weeks, it has recovered most of that value.
But now, on Wednesday, it will report earnings for the first time since, covering Q4, the period before DeepSeek came to the States.
It will be Jensen Huang’s first formal chance to set a course for NVDA and the AI race in the U.S. going forward.
And given NVDA’s outsized impact on not only the tech sector, but the entire markets, I do think this will be the most important earnings call of the quarter.
With good news, we could see tech make a big move higher. If the outlook is gloomy, it could cause a short-term bloodbath (even if that doesn’t last).
Either way, it’s a momentous day in the markets.
Which is why I’m thinking about getting together as many experts as I can to talk about it that day and help you prepare with their real money trade ideas.
