How to Create a Portfolio That Pays You — Even in Tough Markets

by | Apr 2, 2025

Well, Q2 started on Tuesday with a green day to kick things off. That was a relief after what we just sat through in Q1 — one of the roughest quarters in recent memory.

But, of course, the market is back to its bearish ways today on worries about tariffs.

Everyone’s pain is back.

Between Nvidia (NVDA) shedding over a trillion in market cap and the Dow taking a 700+ point dive last week, it’s safe to say a lot of portfolios have been hurting this year.

But not mine. At least not the dividend side of it.

While plenty of high-growth names whipsawed, my longer-term dividend portfolio did exactly what I hoped it would do: it held steady, paid me cash, and reminded me why I love income investing during uncertain times.

One name that stands out right now? Coca-Cola (KO). This stock has quietly become one of the best examples of calm strength in 2025. While the broader market (looking at you, S&P 500 or SPY) has chopped back and forth, KO has actually moved higher. No drama. Just solid gains and regular dividends.

Coca-Cola sits in the Consumer Staples sector — and that matters. In tough markets, investors look for safety. And what’s safer than soda and bottled water? KO keeps earning, keeps paying, and keeps being a name investors lean on when everything else looks shaky.

And let’s not forget the dividend. KO has raised its payout for 60+ consecutive years. That makes it a Dividend King — and it’s easy to see why. Getting a quarterly paycheck while the market tries to find its footing is incredibly valuable. Plus, when you reinvest those dividends, you’re scooping up more shares during the dip.

That’s why I’m hosting a free LIVE session today where I’ll walk through how to build a portfolio that pays you to be patient — no matter what the headlines say.

I’ll even share my 3 favorite stocks for stability and income right now.
