A Bullish Signal, Trade Idea in Amazon to Close Out a Busy Week

by | Jan 24, 2025

It’s been an interesting week for the markets, to say the least!

Today is mostly mixed as traders deal with the latest earnings reports and signals from Washington.

Optimism earlier in the week came from comments from President Donald Trump at Davos. His calls for cuts to U.S. interest rates, oil prices and taxes sent stocks higher. The market was up over 2% for the week despite being shortened by the holiday.

While Wall Street remains skeptical of Trump’s ability to deliver on these promises, his words affect the market.

Another key development came from Trump’s remarks on China…

He indicated he’d “rather not” impose additional tariffs — a softer tone that helped ease fears of a trade war, and Chinese stocks loved the news.

Not only that, but we’re also getting into the thick of earnings season, and as we close out this eventful week, the market is signaling resilience but also caution. Trade policy, earnings and the Fed remain front and center.

But, overall, buckle up! This year is shaping up to be anything but boring, especially with Big Tech earnings coming up next week!

My Apex Indicator AMZN Signal

We’ve been waiting for META, but while we were waiting, the top Apex Indicator signal today is Amazon (AMZN).

Many of the Mag 7 stocks have been moving up lately and AMZN has looked as good or better than any of them.

Here’s the chart:

The current bullish momentum has given us a blue arrow, and that’s our entry signal.

Here’s the Wrap Order:

  • 31 JAN 25 EXP.
  • Buy to Open $232.5 Call.
  • Sell to Open $235 Call.

This should give you a net debit around $1.28 (as of 12:13 p.m. ET), and gain potential just shy of 100%. Keep in mind these prices won’t be exact since prices fluctuate.

Looking forward to some great trades coming soon!
