I’ve been trading long enough to know this. Picking the right strategy is not just about direction. It’s about matching your approach to what the market is actually doing.
In choppy, sideways conditions, one truth becomes clear. Long calls lose value fast because theta decay eats premium every day. Credit spreads benefit from that same time decay.
Most traders overlook this. When a stock grinds sideways, call buyers are fighting time. They can be right on direction and still lose money.
For credit spread sellers, a flat market is not a problem. It is often the ideal outcome. No big move is required. Just stability.
AST SpaceMobile Finds Support and Time Does the Rest
A recent example in AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) shows this clearly.
ASTS has bounced off its 200-day moving average six times over the past year. That repeated behavior suggests buyers continue to defend that level.
When a level holds that often, it becomes a key reference zone for options traders. It creates a backdrop where premium selling can work well.
One setup stood out. A $70/$69 credit spread expiring that week was priced around 20–21 cents. That is roughly 20% of the spread width collected upfront.
The trade does not need a breakout. It only needs ASTS to stay above the short strike.
There is also room for noise. A small dip can still leave the position profitable as long as support holds.
Given how often ASTS has respected its 200-day, the structure favors stability over breakdowns.
Why Selling Premium Makes Sense Here
Credit spreads limit upside, but in slow markets that trade-off matters less.
The goal is not to catch a large move. The goal is to collect premium while price stays range-bound.
In these conditions, time decay becomes the edge. It works in your favor instead of against you.
These are disciplined trades. You define risk upfront and let the market do the rest.
So when momentum fades and direction gets unclear, remember this. Time does not take prisoners, but it does pay traders who know how to sell it.

P.S. Wall Street Is Not Done Bending the Rules
You won’t believe how much brazen manipulation goes on in the market daily!
Here’s one that should grind your gears:
Did you know that Wall Street is legally allowed to use a specific kind of high-speed, high-volume transaction to force a surge or drop in virtually any stock?
Completely legal… and they do it nearly every morning before you’re even done with breakfast.
Fortunately, my research led me right to a chink in their armor…
A tiny window that gives anyone room to tap into these high-volume transactions for what I now call a “10-Minute Moonshot.”
The result? Double, even triple-digit opportunities worth 49%, 53.99%, even 111% before lunch!

Granted, there would have been smaller wins and those that did not work out I can’t make trading guarantees here…
But on Wednesday, I’ll pull Alex Reid live for a Special Briefing…

And together we’ll unload the details of these weird cash windows…
As well as how you can begin taking advantage of them as soon as Thursday.
