🚨 I’ll be live at 9 a.m. ET🚨
We’ll cover trading and traveling, USOIL tanking after the close Tuesday, if the near-term low for the quarter is in and more [tap to join us for the Daily Profit Plan]!
Let me be honest with you about something that’s been on my mind lately.
We’re trading in one of the noisiest trading environments I’ve seen in years. Central banks are moving in different directions — the Swiss staying at 0% rates while others look ready to raise — and that kind of divergence creates plenty of confusion without offering much clarity.
Add in potential deleveraging risk, the debate over whether international markets can outperform the U.S., massive capex spending tied to AI stocks and one of the biggest dispersion rotation trades in years.
Meanwhile, markets are barely moving and breaking normal structure. Geopolitical tensions and shifting government spending policies only add to the noise.
You could spend all day trying to digest every headline, every analyst opinion, every macro concern — and you’d still be no closer to making a good trading decision.
Here’s what I’ve learned after years of doing this: The smartest data you can get is right here in price action. Everything else is just background noise that may or may not matter to what the market actually does next.
Why Price Action Beats the Narrative
Think about it — between central bank policy shifts, government spending debates, sector rotation and geopolitical uncertainty, how do you possibly process it all? The truth is, you don’t need to. Price action will tell you what to do and what not to do because it’s the market’s real-time vote on every headline and expectation.
That’s exactly why I rely on technical levels and defined setups instead of letting narratives drive decisions. Take SPDR Gold Shares (GLD), for example. I’ve been building a sizable position in GLD because price has been respecting levels that align with my trading plan.
It’s a straightforward application of sticking to the chart instead of the storyline. The setup is clean, the risk is defined and whether the metal decides to trend or retrace, my decisions are grounded in what the chart is actually doing.
And even when markets pull back — we’ve seen stretches where indexes dropped over 7% — disciplined strategies can still generate consistent results. Engineered Options have allowed me to keep producing gains week after week even when broad sentiment feels uncertain.
That’s the power of adapting to volatility rather than reacting emotionally to it.
Taking Control Through Calculated Risk
We take calculated risks, and that’s all we can control. You can’t control whether a central bank surprises the market next month, a Trump tweet or whether a geopolitical headline shakes sentiment tomorrow. You can’t control sector rotation or whether AI spending plays out the way analysts expect.
But you can control your risk on every trade. You can control your position sizing. You can control whether you’re chasing or waiting for your setup. And you can control whether you’re reacting to headlines or responding to what price action is showing you.
That framework keeps me consistent and focused on what actually moves my account — not what moves the headlines. The noise isn’t going away, especially with central banks signaling different paths and creating more uncertainty. But your ability to filter that noise and stay grounded in price is what determines how you navigate markets that feel chaotic on the surface.
I’ll see you in the markets.
