Don Yocham, CFA
Don Yocham made his move into global capital markets nearly three decades ago when he first stepped on the bond floor of the Chicago Board of Trade.
After cutting his teeth in the bond option pits, he moved on to investment banking where he traded commodity and financial futures, options, and stocks for institutional clients.
Next came graduate school where he received his MBA from Washington University’s Olin School of Business and went on to analyzing hedge-fund strategies before joining PIMCO, the world’s largest bond manager at the time. While there, he developed a deep expertise in bonds and derivatives as well as helped launch sophisticated inflation-related products and strategies. He also received the Chartered Financial Analyst designation (CFA), the most rigorous accreditation in finance.
After several years at PIMCO, he moved on to managing investments for wealthy clients for a variety of advisory firms with assets ranging in size from $250 million to $16 billion in AUM, including launching his own Investment Advisory Firm where he launched one of the first hedge-fund like mutual funds.
This direct experience managing investments included trading stocks, options, futures, and index funds to successfully navigate the depths of the Great Financial Crisis. When the typical investor had lost more than half of their money, Don’s investors were up, sitting on a pile of money 2.5 times larger than your typical stock investor. He also outperformed most hedge funds during this transformative period in capital markets handily.
It’s this broad and deep experience in global capital markets, including direct experience navigating unprecedented financial market volatility, that drove Don to launch The Prosperity Project.
Decades of failed economic policies are converging with exponential advances in technology to create a truly unique period in human history.
